The new movie Jumper features people who have the ability to teleport from one place in the world to another in the blink of an eye. A few weeks ago MIT hosted a panel discussion between the film's director and star, and two physics professors, about the prospect of real teleportation.
At the event, actor Hayden Christensen and director Doug Liman were kind enough, and brave enough, to talk to us about their understanding of teleportation in the real world as opposed to their film. We offer their comments as a preview, a coming attraction if you will, of a ScienCentral News story, "Real Teleportation," which will appear Tuesday 2/12, and feature the work of NIST physicist David Wineland.
