Can you spot the fake?

ScienCentral has posted hundreds of videos and people link to them, sometimes even post them, one by one to their own sites. But this is the first time I have experienced this. Someone – I do not know who – has stolen our entire channel – including a collection of 271 ScienCentral videos. Nobody contacted me to be sure it was OK. Nobody has offered to pay me any royalties. It just appeared a few weeks ago as a fake version of our channel. They are our videos, some in a degraded form, with a little less resolution and sound quality than the original.

Of course, we are not alone. A few YouTube channel owners reported similar experiences (https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/mSAHZow-bw8 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPZv-ru-JL4). In their cases, the cannel thieves tried to monetize income from views.

So far, our videos still monetize. I will keep you posted on what happens.
