Trouble Under the Sea
Today, Earth’s seas are under threat from the effects of global warming. Problems like ocean acidification are posing a disatrous risk to marine life across the globe. As acidity levels rise in our oceans, shellfish, coral, and algae can die off and leave barren sea beds and crumbling reefs in their wake.
Filmmakers Howard and Michele Hall hope to heighten awareness of the issue by bringing it to the big screen in a new IMAX 3D film, “Under the Sea 3D”, their sequel to “Deep Sea 3D.”
For more information on what ocean acidification is and how big an impact it is having already, come back and visit ScienCentral.com on August 22 for our news story “Acid Oceans”. Or, to get alerted via email when the story is available, sign up here.
