When “The Day The Earth Stood Still” was released in 1951 the film served as an allegory for nuclear proliferation. “The Day The Earth Stood Still” to be beamed into space– quirky PR stunt where they are using “redundant high-powered klystron amplifiers connected by a traveling waveguide to a five meter parabolic dish antenna.” The funny thing is that Earth has been beaming video into space ever since TV was invented. We think that’s why the aliens never come.
